CONG. LAGDAMEO ALLOCATES 2.8 MILLION PESOS FOR HOSPITAL NEEDS

CONG. LAGDAMEO ALLOCATES 2.8 MILLION PESOS FOR HOSPITAL NEEDS

Panabo City - In his move to address the various health and hospitalization needs of his district, Cong. Anton F. Lagdameo, Jr. thru his Barangayanihan Program, initiated the funding of a total of 2.8 Million Pesos for the two major public hospitals operating in the region.

Lagdameo, the Lower House Representative of the 2nd District of Davao del Norte, allocated 1.8 Million Pesos to the Davao Regional Hospital (DRH) in Tagum City to cater to the medical requirements of his constituents. Most residents of the province and nearby localities especially those with indigent patients prefer to consult the DRH for their medical needs because of its close proximity and cheap yet quality service.

The young legislator, who is the co-Vice Chairperson of House Committees on Accounts, Tourism and Good Government & Public Accountability of the 15th Congress, earmarked another 1 Million Pesos for those constituents seeking medical attention in the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City.

Ms. Gene-rose Tecson, Lagdameo's Chief of Staff revealed that District 2 constituents seeking the services of said hospitals can visit the congressman's offices in Panabo City or Igacos to avail of the fund. Requirements would include a barangay or MSWDO certification certifying that the patient is an indigent resident of the municipality or city. A referral slip will be given to the requesting person which they can process in the hospital to shoulder either the billing, medicine or laboratory needs of their patient.

It was also learned that Congressman Lagdameo is also planning to provide mini-ambulance vehicles especially to far-flung barangays to be used during emergency situations requiring the immediate transport of patients to a local hospital. Status of the said project however is still being followed up as of writing.
